The Australian Heritage Festival is back for 2021. From 18th April to the 19th May 2021. With special events scheduled for all states and territories across Australia
This year we plan to celebrate our heritage, our communities, our diversity and creativity in bringing heritage to life at historical locations, in nature, in performance and digitally. All Australian Heritage Festival events must be COVID safe, and we’ve provided a toolkit for all organisers to make them so. We invite the community to enjoy these events but ask that you enjoy them responsibly. Please maintain your physical distance, stay home if you are sick and ensure you keep your hands clean at all times.
The Australian Heritage Festival is bringing people together from across the country, from all walks of life, and for those who have enjoyed discovering heritage for a long time or are just taking their first steps to do so. Join us. Celebrate heritage and culture through ceremony, song and dance, performance art, talks and tours. Celebrate it online with virtual events.
Welcome to the Australian Heritage Festival for 2021.
The festival event calendar will be available one month out, from Thursday 18 March 2021.
In 2019, the Australian Heritage Festival:
- Provided Australians with a selection of 786 events celebrating cultural, Aboriginal, natural and built heritage nationally.
- Attracted 362,000 visitors to events across the nation.
- Connected a digital audience of 357,714 people.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to another year of the Australian Heritage Festival and the wonderful range of exhibitions, walking tours, films, expert talks, workshops, food fairs, guided tours of historical sites, ceremonies, demonstrations, special dinners and lunches this program has to offer.
